Welcome to Stronachlachar
A different world....
Our Stronachlachar development is located within a small hamlet community in a superb position close to the banks of Loch Katrine and surrounded by outstanding views and countryside.
The word is Stronachlachar come from the Gaelic for “the nose or point of the stonemason”, the hamlet and is located on the south western side of the legendary Loch Katrine. This area is stunningly idyllic with The Trossachs on close by.
Loch Katrine is Glasgow’s fresh water loch and is home to the famous Sir Walter Scott steamship, named after the poet who sought inspiration from the area for many of his works. The Pier Café on the banks of the loch is only a short walk away and provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere where a selection of food and refreshments are available.
The area offers a variety of outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling, hiking, wildlife and bird watching, and a variety of water sports including kayaking and paddle boarding. Along with the magnificent scenery, Stronachlachar, is also steeped in history and there are many historic connections to the area including Queen Victoria and Rob Roy MacGregor.
Close by there are also several golf courses to choose from including Aberfoyle, which was established in 1890 and one of the most scenic in Scotland, to courses at Buchanan Castle, Strathendrick and Callander.
The Trossachs are renowned as one of the most rugged and inspiring areas in Scotland and provide something for everyone, whether that is adventure, exploring, relaxing, nature or history.
